Project

People who have experienced persecution, war, or displacement often face complex legal, social, and psychosocial challenges. To provide them with appropriate support, professionals—especially those new to the field or transitioning from other careers—language mediators, and volunteers need easily accessible resources for knowledge, networking, and support. At the same time, long distances and a lack of training opportunities in rural areas make it difficult to access professional development opportunities.

As part of this project, a digital learning platform is being developed for psychosocial and migration-related counseling work. The goal is to permanently digitize existing training programs and make knowledge accessible in a flexible, practical manner, regardless of time or location. We place particular emphasis on low-threshold and barrier-free access. Introductory videos, FAQ sections, and a help desk are designed to facilitate the use of the platform and support the transition to digital learning opportunities. At the same time, the platform is being further developed in collaboration with experts and participants to ensure it is aligned with the actual needs of the field.

The plan is to develop various learning modules on topics such as asylum law, residency law, social welfare law, labor market integration, mental health challenges among displaced persons, understanding of roles, self-protection, language mediation in sensitive contexts, data protection, and child protection. In addition, digital spaces for exchange and learning will be created, featuring live online seminars and professional dialogue. Users should be able to work through the content at their own pace and access materials from anywhere.

The digital learning platform will be based on open-source solutions that comply with data protection regulations. This will create a sustainable digital infrastructure that preserves knowledge, strengthens networking, and supports the long-term quality of psychosocial and migration-related counseling services in Brandenburg.
